Elvira Lorrain Foster Smith (US1843) received numerous condolence letters from friends and acquanitances of Henry and herself on the advent of his death due to Yellow Fever in Vera Cruz, Mexico while fighting Mexico on 24 Jul 1847. THFFI has five of them. Towards the end of this letter is a picture of Mr. Eaton and a military profile from a book documenting West Point graduates. THFFI member Alan Severance (US7041) did some research and submitted Mr. Eaton's material for this record.
