Charles Edward Hungerford (US495) wrote this article for the June 1909 issue of "Outing Magazine." The article runs from pages 267-277. It deals with all the jobs that made up the railroad industry back in the early 1900s. Per the author, in 1909, one out of every 12 men worked in the industry. You can read it here.
