This is an image of enhancements that the Mackays made to their quarters at the Theodore A. Havemeyer house at 244 Madison Avenue, New York City, the house in which their son John William Mackay (US3405) would be born in 1907.

Banked with palms and lilies for a party, the entrance features wall sconces and a sedan chair of the same kind Stanford White provided for William Whitney.

Clarence (US1797) and Katherine (Katherine Alexandra Duer (US1797spouse1)) leased the Theodore A. Havemeyer house where they made their city residence for autumn and winter, off and on, between 1905 and 1910.

See Harbor Hill, Clarence Hungerford Mackay's Mansion.
