This is a transcription of Volume 1 of John H. Tinker’s diaries, which mention the Hungerfords (notably John Newton Hungerford (SH262 in the Surnames Database) and Sextus Herman Hungerford (SH259 in the Surnames Database) and Pattersons (notably George Washington Patterson Sr. & Jr, who were close friends of the Hungerford and Tinker families in Westfield, New York).

The transcription is the work of Steve Litteral. Steve is a historian in his own right, not to mention Executive Director of the Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum and Gardens in Rockford, Illinois, which is where Robert Tinker ended up after he left Westfield.
