Obtained via Winston Churchill's A History of the English-Speaking Peoples. This is believed to be a representation of Sir Thomas Hungerford found in a stained glass window at St. Leonard's Church in Farleigh-Hungerford. This church was consecrated in 1443 and was meant to replace the chapel the Hungerfords--also called St. Leonards--had walled off when they turned the residence into a castle by adding walls. Sir Thomas got into a bit of trouble for this activity as he did not apply for the crown's permission before boldly crenelating without license the castle walls.
