This article discusses the wells in Watertown, New York (only water source until 1853!) and eventually covers a well used to supply a trough that fed horses between the lots of Olney Pearce and Orville Hungerford.  The path between the two became Clinton street.  This is where the Watertown Female Academy was located.  The question is--Olney's lot or Orville's lot?  (This is a question as of 14 Dec 2025.)
