This agreement was between Daniel B. Miller and Henry Smith for the benefit of Timothy Baker of Lenawee county, Michigan. Henry died 24 Jul 1847 in Vera Cruz so this document was updated on 7 Aug 1846. It had to be done to resolve issues that came up (on this and other arrangements) due to his premature death. A more thorough transcription is needed.
