Pages 52-53 of the People's History of Kingston, Rondout and Vicinity, The First Capital of New York State, (1820 to 1943), by William C. De Witt, New Haven, Connecticut, 1943.  These two pages discuss father and son Charles Anson Hungerford and Edward Hungerford.  The father was a prominent hotelier and the son was a famous author of all things dealing with railroads and transportation.
